Are you ready for an unforgettable culinary journey filled with the finest treasures of the Adriatic Sea? From 6 to 15 June 2025, the Crikvenica-Vinodol Riviera becomes the epicenter of seafood gastronomy with the launch of the very first Shrimp Festival!

🦐 Shrimp – The King of Adriatic Delicacies

Why shrimp? Because it's more than just a delicacy – it’s a symbol of our coastal region! Especially those from the Vinodol Channel, known for being larger, more flavorful, and juicier than their open-sea counterparts due to the specific sea-bottom, ideal temperature, and the blend of brackish and sea water.

šŸ½ļø 10 Days, 13 Restaurants, Dozens of Inspired Dishes

This exciting new festival is a joint project by the tourist boards of Crikvenica, Novi Vinodolski, and the Vinodol Municipality. For 10 delicious days, selected restaurants and taverns will offer special menus featuring shrimp, celebrating this prized local ingredient in all its forms.

From raw shrimp and shrimp buzara, to ceviche, homemade pasta, and creative desserts with strawberries, lime, or mascarpone – the culinary creativity will impress every food lover.

RESTAURANT DIDA – Crikvenica (€65)

  • Creamy shrimp soup with cuttlefish profiteroles and pomegranate

  • Tagliatelle with shrimp sauce, roasted tomatoes, cheese espuma, basil

  • Strawberry tart with sour cream ice cream and lime gel

RESTAURANT LEMOON – Crikvenica (€25 / €40)

  • Adriatic shrimp pĆ¢tĆ© with ProÅ”ek sauce

  • Green bouillabaisse with shellfish

  • Shrimp wrapped in pancetta with saffron risotto

  • Chef’s choice dessert

HOTEL MIRAMARE – Crikvenica (€65)

  • Shrimp marinated in Istrian olive oil and mandarin juice with honey-lemon emulsion

  • Butter-seared shrimp with celeriac cream and fennel citrus salad

  • Mascarpone and Philadelphia cream with raspberries

RESTAURANT ARGO – Novi Vinodolski (€45–€55)

  • Shrimp cocktail, shrimp risotto, shrimp buzara, grilled shrimp

  • Dessert trio: tiramisu, panna cotta, and apple strudel

TAVERN NAVIGARE – Klenovica (€38)

  • Cream of shrimp and fennel soup

  • Homemade pasta with shrimp and light truffle sauce

  • Sesame-baked shrimp on tomato & basil salsa with polenta medallions

This pilot edition is just the beginning – the official Shrimp Festival will return in full scale in spring 2026, right as the Kvarner region holds the title of European Region of Gastronomy. The future festival will combine cuisine, culture, tradition, education, and entertainment – delivering a one-of-a-kind experience for all visitors.
